March To Mumbai

Captain Tom inspired a nation when he decided to walk 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday. We would like to honour his memory and his wonderful achievements by setting a whole school challenge.

Captain Tom served in the army during World War II and was stationed in Mumbai, India, which is 5,603 miles from Cwmfelin Primary School. You can contribute to our challenge by carrying out a walk or a run and recording your distance in Google Classroom. As a school, we will add up our weekly mileage and provide a weekly progress update. So, come on everyone, let's get moving and March to Mumbai!!

The challenge will be set on Google Classroom on Friday 12th February and you will receive your unique running bib number. This number will allow you to enter your mileage on the spreadsheet whenever you complete an activity and a weekly whole school total will be published. You can use your running number to edit and print out a bib to wear during your walks or runs too!

Watch the video below for inspiration and complete your first mile today!

Thank you and have fun!
