The school runs the Savings Club with the children’s help every Tuesday. They can save as much or as little as they want; it all adds up. The money can be withdrawn by completing a withdrawal request online, contacting the credit union directly, or bringing a form along to the Savings Club.
A Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, meaning it is owned and controlled by its members. Credit Unions are regulated like banks, so your money is protected, and any savings will be eligible for an annual dividend (or ‘interest’ payment). Bridgend Lifesavers has worked in the area since 2000 and is committed to supporting every community member. We already run several hugely successful school savings schemes in Bridgend County Borough and look forward to working closely with Cwmfelin.
If your child has already joined, you don’t need to do anything. If your child hasn’t joined yet, they can join anytime by filling in a membership form online at: www.bridgendschoolsavings.com We can also provide paper copies of the form. Once the membership form is completed, your child will receive a popper wallet for their paying-in book and a piggy bank and can start saving immediately.
We look forward to seeing all our savers, new and old!
